Bethune-Cookman University was a dream that began with $1.50, five little girls for students and a determined Mary McLeod Bethune in 1904. Years later, in 1924, the school merged with the United Methodist Church and became known as Bethune-Cookman College. After years of determination and growth, in 2007, Bethune-Cookman College graduated and became Bethune-Cookman University.

The Marching Wildcats are the PRIDE of Bethune-Cookman University. This 325 member unit of instrumentalists, the Sophisticat Flag Corp. and the 14 Karat Gold Dancers perform at half time shows and have participated in the Honda Battle of the Bands held at the Georgia Dome, representing the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.
